Scottish Womens Institute -

We are women supporting women to live their best lives by experiencing lifelong learning, fun and lasting friendships.

All women in Scotland are welcome to join the SWI, an internationally recognised and well-respected membership organisation which was created by women, for women.

With a rich history in each of Scotland’s communities, the SWI continues to promote education and connects women locally and nationally to improve their quality of life through friendship, education, sharing skills and experiences and having fun. Now, with 500 groups around the country, we are proud to bring together more than 10,000 women across the length and breadth of Scotland.

We celebrate our traditional Scottish heritage and crafting techniques and embrace new adventures, offering everything from knitting and baking to walking weekends and wild swims… with a bit of gin tasting and belly dancing in the mix too! While lifelong learning is at the heart of everything we do, lasting friendships and improved confidence are often wonderful results!

We are women supporting women to live their best lives, so dive in and see what you can do…

Buckie and District Cancer Support Group.

💛Buckie and District Cancer Support Group has been running for over 20 years by volunteers within the Buckie area. We hope to support individuals and families affected by cancer with practical support. If you require assistance to get to appointments or need to stay at Clan Haven or any other practical help please contact us on our Facebook page (link below)
We have a monthly support group meeting (details on our Facebook page too) 💙

Buckie Community Shop

Buckie Community Shop was started just over 5 years ago to try and help our local community in some small way and have the support of a lovely group of volunteers who believe in what the shop is attempting to provide.
A lot of the work is confidential and will remain that way.
They are NOT a charity and do not receive grants. This decision was intentional so that it can help numerous groups with different needs and not a specific type of organisation.
Bucke Community Shop is a second hand dealer (sole trader) who supports the local community. As a sole trader it pays rent, overheads and taxes and the owner draws a wage, the same as every sole trader in the town.

Buckies Roots

Buckie’s Roots is involved in many aspects of keeping Buckie looking beautiful – from growing and planting flowers and plants for the borders in various locations , litter picking and generally helping others. As a Charity all income is derived from donations and all funding goes back into what they do.

They have been recipients of numerous awards and are supported by young and old businesses and individuals alike.

Below are some examples of their contribution to the community in Buckie – others can be found on their Facebook page.
